Working together so our communities are the healthiest in America.

Going Above and Beyond

Since joining MaineHealth 18 months ago in the midst of a global pandemic, I have been inspired each day by the courage, compassion and talents of our care team, and the dedication to the patients and communities we serve.  Amid the challenges we have faced together in 2021-22, our care team has remained true to our values of patient-centered, respect, integrity, ownership, excellence and innovation. They are truly health care heroes.

Going Above and Beyond for Our Patients

25 Years and Counting…

From the early roots of the Maine Medical Center Foundation in 1987 to a unified health system and medical group, the MaineHealth vision of working together so our communities are the healthiest in America has always been at the core of what we do.

“The future will bring more changes and more challenges. But I assure you, it will look very much like the past in one very important way; the greater good will come first as we walk together in service to our communities.” – Former MaineHealth Chairman Jim Orr, 1999

INVESTING IN OUR COMMUNITIES

In keeping with our vision, mission and values, MaineHealth offers a wide range of community programs focused on disease management, prevention and population health — free of charge — and no one is ever denied care because of inability to pay.

In 2021, the MaineHealth quantifiable value of community benefits at cost was over $652 million.*
